Bring songs in
Paste a song from a chord site
Copy a chord sheet from any site or note, press Option-Command-V, check the review and import it. Segue writes the ChordPro.
- Copy a song from a chord site, a note or a message: chords over lyrics, a chord-site page or ChordPro all work.
- In Segue, press ⌥⌘V (File > New Song from Clipboard). With the song list selected, ⌘V does the same. In an empty library, click Paste a Song.
- Check the review: the original on the left, the song Segue made on the right.
- Press ⌘↩ to import it.
The review
Section titled “The review”The review shows the song’s details on the same card as the library, and the lyrics sorted into sections: verses, choruses, a bridge. In the original, the lines Segue left out are struck through: menu text and “Transpose” buttons copied from the site. A line Segue could not place stays in the song as a note, so nothing you pasted is lost.

Some sites write the artist first. If the title and artist came out the wrong way round, click Swap Title and Artist. To fix anything else, click Edit in Text or change it on the card.
Fix a section label
Section titled “Fix a section label”Click Edit in Text and change the label in the ChordPro, or import the song and fix it with the section band. Labels are only labels: your lyrics and chords are kept exactly as pasted.
What the sparkles mean
Section titled “What the sparkles mean”Segue converts every paste with its own rules first. If AI is on (Settings > AI), a model on your Mac then checks the section labels and the title and artist, and a small sparkle marks each one it decided. While it works, the footer says “Refining with…”. When it is done, the footer names what made the result: the local model, Apple Intelligence, or “Converted without AI”. Nothing you paste leaves your Mac. See AI in Segue.
During a show
Section titled “During a show”Paste is off while a show is running, so nothing heavy runs on stage. New Song opens a blank song instead.
